Quiet of the Night

Sitting here in the quiet of the house.

I am not usually up at 12:50, but my oldest son went to the drive-in movies tonight and I can't sleep until my peeps are all tucked in.

Thanking God for a week that has been like a whirl-wind...between friends visiting, appointments, a heat wave that keeps the children inside and the normal day to day activities. My life has been very full.

We have been enjoying some of the bounty from my husband's garden. Some have described it as a jungle--out of control. The tomato plants are over six feet tall and starting to get lots of little and not so little green tomatoes on them. The lettuce is producing at a brisk rate and our string beans, which we all love to snack on fresh, are abundant.

My husband, God love him, is asleep on the couch. He couldn't stay awake until our son came home, but he wanted to stay downstairs with me so I wouldn't be alone.

I have started studying the Bible with a friend of mine. We just completed our first lesson today on Ephesians and we will try to get together every week to discuss the lesson that we have studied throughout the week. I am thankful for this motivation to stay "in the Word".

Goodnight everyone...I think that I will enjoy falling to sleep comforted by this verse (once my son gets home, of course, lol)

Psalm 46:10a
“Be still, and know that I am God"
