Missing you Caleb every moment of every day.
I am less than two weeks away from "birth day" of my baby girl. I had another ultrasound and non-stress test on Tuesday morning and the baby looks great. I was told she has lots of hair and a dimple in her chin :)
I have started packing a bag and am trying to tie up loose ends. It seems like my children have had/still have so many appointments between dentists, pediatricians, eye doctors, oral surgeons, audiologists, in the past month and coming up. I know that I will not be able to get them all in before the newest blessing arrives, but I'm trying to get as much done as possible and am comfortable with that.

I have put all of my children's baby pictures (taken at the hospital) in 3 1/2 x 5 inch connected frames to take with me to the hospial. My children love it when I display them at the hospital after I have a new baby so that they can compare what everyone looked like compared to the newest when they were born.
Did any of you, my blogging friends, bring anything to the hospital with you when you had your babies that really meant a lot to your other children?
I have started, as of two nights ago, sleeping on the couch. I seem to be more comfortable. My understanding husband also slept on the couch with me. We have a sectional and therefore have ample room, luckilly.
My daughter is having oral surgery today. She has gum loss around some of her teeth. They aren't sure what caused it...too little skin to begin with around the tooth, or aggresive flossing maybe. Her jaw bone is also thinner on one side which might have something to do with it. She is very nervous about it.
When I am in hospitals or medical settings I can get really sick to my stomach. Just thinking about something can make me feel like I'm going to faint. My mom used to be a maternity nurse so I don't know where I got my weak stomach. The only time I can stomach hospitals is when I am having my babies (luckilly!). Hopefully tomorrow I will be in "mom mode" and will be able to be strong for her. I'm sure the Lord will give me the strength.

When my husband had pnemonia years ago they ended up having to treat me in the next room because I almost fainted. When my mom had a hysterectomy I ended up being treated on the floor (where I collapsed) in the hallway from being dizzy and lightheaded, and when I was about 19 I went to visit a friend at the hospital who had just had a baby and she showed me that her stomach looked like jello after delivery and I lost it. I had to sit with my head between my knees so that I wouldn't faint. I have also fainted after giving birth when I was using the toilet afterwards. What a wimp! :)
I guess I should wake up my daughter soon so that she can have something in her stomach because I don't think she will feel like eating much after her appointment today.
Matthew 10:29-31
29Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. 30And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Praying that you and your loved ones are well.
With love and hope,
Cheryl
Cheryl - remembering and missing Caleb with you.
ReplyDeleteWow - only 2 weeks. Glad to hear that things are going well with the newest addition. The pics at the hospital sound lovely. We had a picture of Nicholas' brothers with us when we had him. In a way, we have a "family picture".
Hope your daughter is feeling better soon... oral surgery... yuck!
Love to you.
Thinking of you over the next two weeks. It is always a busy time as you try to tie up loose ends. I hope it all goes smoothly and will be crossing fingers and toes for some great news two weeks from now!
ReplyDeleteEach time I was going in to have one of my babies I brought with me a religious medal that my Grandmother had given me when she died. It made me feel I would have her protection.
I like the picture of Caleb's name in the sand, and boy do I feel bad for your daughter. It's got to be scary! I also have a very very weak stomach! Medical issues really gross me out.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see our sweet babies! :)
My daughter (then 17) came to the hospital with me when I was going to have my hysterectomy. They ended up having to treat her when she started to pass out while they were putting the IV in my hand! Too funny.
