Peace at Last

Philippians 4:7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

I can finally say that when I left my doctor's appointment today I really felt a sense of peace...not the kind of peace when you think that everything is always going to go the way that you would like, but the sense of peace that God is merciful and will help you to handle whatever he allows in your life. That is not to say that my ob/gyn appointment didn't go well...

I had a great appointment. First I had an ultrasound and they determined that the volume of amniotic fluid did not increase, so that was good. I am at a "high normal" amount. My doctor is still thinking that it is the fact that my baby is big. It was such a blessing to see the baby again. They actually score the baby's condition, similar to when they are first born and have an apgar score done. My baby scored 8/8! How reassuring.

I then had an appointment with my ob/gyn doctor. I love my doctor and he is so comforting to me. He said that everything looks good, according to the ultrasound, and the baby's heartbeat sounded great.

He did say that he wants me to go in every week now for stress tests because of my age (42 years old). I also think that because of the large amount of amniotic fluid that also convinced him to want me to come in on a weekly basis, plus the fact that I've already lost one child and he doesn't want anything to go wrong. I thanked him for being so careful.

One thing I did find out was that my baby is almost 7 pounds already and I have almost 6 weeks to go! I have another ultrasound scheduled for three weeks from today to check the baby's weight again. My children sure like to "chunk up" in utero.

Happy Birthday to You!

It was my youngest (living) son's birthday today. He turned 8 years old. Tonight I was in the bathroom when he was in the shower. We have a soap/shampoo dispenser on the wall in the shower and I heard him pumping out a lot of soap. I asked him how many pumps of soap he took--10!? He answered me by saying that now that he is eight years old he needs five pumps because his body is bigger now. He said last year he only needed 3. :)

Goodnight for now.
With love and hope,
Cheryl

  1. I love your 8 year olds logic!

Glad to hear that your appointment went well today. It is good that your Doctor is sensitive to what you have gone through. We lost our third baby in the first trimester and my fourth pregnancy I was so nervous until he was born healthy and handed to me. I know you will probably be very glad to reach that milestone too.

    Thinking of you,
